Our Review of the Combi Hero high chair

Combi flies to the rescue with the Combi Hero High Chair. A 2-in-1 convertible chair, the Hero starts out as a high chair suitable for infants and then turns into a toddler booster seat. With 5 adjustable height positions, a 3 position recline, and a generous cushion, baby sits comfortably during meal time.

Benefits for Mom and Dad: Toss the removable and adjustable tray in the dishwasher for easy cleanup post-spaghetti. Remove the seat cushion to quickly wipe up any messes. The included towel hangs on the towel hook, always ready to help you make quick work of small spills. To change the high chair to a booster, remove the seat from the frame and place it on a chair. Voila, your toddler now sits at the table!

Benefits for Baby: Your little one sits in the lap of luxury thanks to the Hero's luxurious padding. A slide-out cup holder keeps baby's juice from tipping over and the included mug provides the perfect spot for a glass of milk. 5 different height positions grow with baby and the 3-position recline enhances your child's comfort. In booster mode, the Hero adjusts to 3 positions. A 5-point harness keeps kids secure.

Comparison: Within the category of convertible high chairs, the modern looking Stokke Tripp Trapp changes from high chair to youth chair as your little one grows. The Tripp Trapp forgoes the traditional tray so that babies can sit at the table with mom and dad. For a high-chair only option, the Peg Perego Prima Pappa Diner has a similar look as the Combi Hero and offers wheels, high-end fabrics, and 7 height positions.

Love this chair!

I love this highchair. Its so easy to use and definitely helps to keep the mess of the food confined to the tray. Unlike other reviews, I have had no problem cleaning my highchair. I use clorox wipes on the tray and seat and have not had a problem with the seat cushion. I also love the design. It is not a cutsie pattern as is found on most highchairs and fits in nicely with our decor. I absolutely love this chair!

Combi Hero high chair

Have had high chair for over a year and would like to use it with my next child but most likely will be unable given the condition of the chair pad. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the fabric is easy to clean but it is not durable as with each swipe, more and more of the top coating comes off. A sticky substance is left which attracts food making the cleaning process difficult. A new chair pad design/product would be helpful.

Cute, but not convenient

Reviewer: Anonymous , Houston, TX Date: December 29, 2009
We have been using these chairs for our twins for about 8 months now. As cute as they are, there are several issues that cause us repeated frustration. The trays do not, as advertised, fit in the dishwasher. They do not even fit in the sink (I have a big sink, too), and so are difficult to clean with out spraying water everwhere. The cupholder is not removable and so is difficult to keep clean. The removable tray insert is useless since the food mess is never confined to that area. The seat covers are difficult to keep clean. I have to use pliars to reinstall the straps everytime I remove them. Not convenient. While the material is easy to wipe down, food gets stuck in the seams so removal is necessary. The handles for rolling the chairs are too low for my husband and I to comfortably use (I am 5'-8") (although this is a minor issue). The front wheels have flimsy sharp plastic locks that are constantly getting kicked (painful) and accidentally locked so the chairs end up being dragged all over the floor instead of rolled. And the chairs are not terribily stable either. In all, the chairs look super cute in our kitchen but we regret the purchase!

Thank you so much for your feedback. We contacted Combi regarding the issues you have experienced, and here is what they had to say: "We?re sorry to learn that you are disappointed with your Hero high chair. We have not received these types of complaints on the seat cushion before now. Perhaps the straps on your particular cover are shorter than others for some reason. We would be more than happy to send a replacement cover to see if that will resolve the issue with having to use a tool to remove or replace your cover."

"Your comments on the handle height, wheels and stability have been forwarded to our product development team for future product improvements and design."

"Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention."

Sincerely,

Great product!

I've had this chair for almost a month, and so far it's great! The tray is easy to clean, and I love that the seat reclines. I haven't used it as a booster yet, but I like that I have that option. In addition to being so functional, it also looks fantastic!

Love this chair

I love this chair and so does my 6 months old son. We've only had this chair for 3 days, but we've used it with the high chair frame and we placed the chair on the floor in the living room. It's perfect. Easy to clean, seams comfortable, tray is easy to remove and replace, and the same goes for the booster seat. My husband and I work full-time and family watches our son during the day. One family member has all the baby items due to other grandchildren, but the other member is lacking equipment. This chair is the perfect solution because we only have to buy one highchair. The booster seat/toddler chair will travel with our son one day a week. Completely satisfied so far.
